UFC welterweight champion Tyron Woodley has been working hard to lock down a money fight, after defending his belt from his division’s top contenders multiple times. The champion has set his sights on UFC superstar Nate Diaz, however it was recently reported that Diaz has turned down the opportunity. That being said, it would appear that negotiations may still be going on.
Appearing on The MMA Hour, Woodley explained that he has discussed things with his manager. The fighter said, “We should know within 24 hours. I haven’t heard a ‘no’ yet. Until I hear a ‘no,’ I’m not going to stop.”
Nate Diaz has not competed inside the octagon since his majority decision loss to Conor McGregor at UFC 202 back in August of 2016.
