UFC results from the early morning weigh in gave some bad news for the fans, as a fighter has been forced to pull out on just a day’s notice after being unfit to hit the scales.
Former UFC flyweight title challenger and TUF winner Tim Elliot didn’t even expect to fight tomorrow night, after losing his original opponent. Well, it appears as if his instincts were correct, because his last minute replacement was unfit to hit the scales today, and instead of coming in heavy, didn’t show up at all.
Elliot was scheduled to face Pietro Menga on tomorrow’s preliminary portion of the card, but that bout is now cancelled, on just a days notice.
Elliot made weight at today’s weigh-ins, and as a result is expected to receive his show money from the UFC.
UFC on FOX 26: Lawler vs. dos Anjos goes down on Saturday night from Winnipeg, Canada. The night’s stacked main card airs live and free on FOX.
All fighters but co-main event competitor Josh Emmett made their contracted weight. It’s important to note that Emmett took the fight on very short notice after Ricardo Lamas lost his original opponent, Jose Aldo, to the UFC 218 main event.
