The world’s most famous mixed martial arts promotion hosted another exciting night of fights over the weekend. This time, the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) was in Fresno, Calif. for UFC Fight Night 123. The event went down Saturday night, Dec. 9, and featured a fight card filled with stunning octagon performances. Among them, the night’s headliner featured a featherweight war between Cub Swanson and Brian Ortega.
Ortega has yet to be defeated in his mixed martial arts career. With four victories under the UFC banner, Ortega held a record of 12-0 leading into UFC Fight Night 123. While the fighter did not get his fifth consecutive third round finish at the event, the fighter did keep his undefeated streak alive with a dazzling performance over the MMA veteran.
Ortega earned a submission victory over Swanson in the second round. The fighter nearly choked out Swanson at the end of the first round, but Swanson was saved by the bell. Returning in the second round, Ortega made sure to get the finish.
Now Cub Swanson has taken to Facebook to offer his thoughts on the recent loss. Speaking to his fans, the fighter stated:
“And just like that, your plans can change ….Congrats to @briantcity on a great performance (you’re a class act). Thank you to everyone who supports Me I feel blessed to have you All.”
