The Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) was in Fresno, Calif. over the weekend for another stacked fight card. The world’s most famous mixed martial arts promotion hosted UFC Fight Night 123 inside the Save Mart Center for the Fresno crowd, offering a night of entertaining octagon performances. Now UFC President Dana White has come forward to offer his thoughts on the night’s event.
There were a series of notable performances throughout the night. Brian Ortega made short work of Cub Swanson in the event’s featherweight headliner, earning a submission victory in the second round. White went on to call Ortega “positively the future” of the featherweight division. Beyond that, Marlon Moraes put on a knockout of the year contender with his big victory over Aljamain Sterling. With a vicious knee to the head, Moraes left Sterling unconscious on the canvas for a knockout win. Speaking on UFC on FOX after the event, Dana White compared Moraes’ knockout to that of Francis Ngannou over Alistair Overeem at UFC 218. Ngannou knocked the former K-1 Grand Prix champion out cold in the first round of their co-main event match up.
