Fighter Saves This Weekend’s UFC Event, Takes Fight On Three Days Notice

Ultimate Fighter winner, and top UFC flyweight, Tim Elliot has gotten an early Christmas present in the form of a new opponent. Pietro Menga has agreed to face him at this weekend’s UFC Winnipeg event, on just three days notice.

After losing his original opponent, Elliot was not expected to fight this weekend. However, a new announcement from the UFC has confirmed that Menga has answered the call, and will now compete on this weekend’s fight card on super short notice.

The UFC Winnepeg event, better known as  UFC on FOX 26, goes down this Saturday, live and free on BIG FOX, across the globe.

In the night’s main event, former champions Robbie Lawler and Rafael dos Anjos will meet in a welterweight clash for the ages.

Ricardo Lamas takes on Josh Emmett in the night’s co-main event. Also, “Platinum” Mike Perry makes his highly anticipated return against knockout artist Santiago Ponzinibbio.

Glover Teixeira is also booked on the night’s main card against Misha Cirkunov
UFC on FOX 26: Lawler vs. dos Anjos is set to go down from Winnipeg, Canada’s Bell MTS Place.
