Chael Sonnen’s Submission Underground has quickly been growing into a popular outlet for hardcore grapplers. Well, this past weekend things were no different.
Submission Underground 6 went down the weekend of Dec. 2 and featured a series of exciting match ups. Among them, Former Strikeforce champion and all around world-class athlete Jake Shields threw down with Gilbert Burns. Burns is a three time Brazilian jiu-jitsu world champion. That in mind, Shields came out on top with a victory via fastest escape time in three rounds.
The promotion then brought out AJ Agazarm to challenge Shields, but that is when things erupted.
Shields did not appear to appreciate Agazarm’s approach, as the fighter dished out his team’s signature “Stockton slap” to the man’s face. Former UFC competitor Chael Sonnen was stuck in the middle of the two and attempted to keep Shields away from the man. Sonnen ended up being caught in the cross-fire and took a “Stockton slap” as well.
Shields then took the mic and offered some trash-talk to the individual.
“I dumped water on your face.”Shields said. “I’ve already punked you so many times when no one is around. I’ve dumped water on your face, spit on you, kicked you in your leg. You’re a little f**king b**ch.”
When Agazarm began talking back, Jake Shields retaliated. “I’m Diaz for life, so f**k you.”
