It would appear that the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) has locked in a series of exciting match ups for the upcoming UFC schedule. This time around, the mixed martial arts promotion has managed to book five big fights for various events.
UFC Fight Night 126 goes down Feb. 18 inside the Frank Erwin Center in Austin, Texas. The fight card will air on FS1 after a series of prelims on the promotion’s online streaming service UFC Fight Pass. Now the UFC has booked a heavyweight war for the night’s fight card.
As reported by MMA Junkie, UFC heavyweights Derrick Lewis and Marcin Tybura are now set to throw down at the event.
Tybura is coming off of a unanimous decision loss to former champion Fabricio Werdum from UFC Fight Night 121 in Sydney, Australia. Lewis was initially supposed to face off against the former champion at UFC 216. However, Lewis pulled out of the match up on short notice after suffering an injury.
The UFC has also booked a featherweight match up for another upcoming fight card. UFC Fight Night 124 takes place Jan. 14 inside the Scottrade Center in St. Louis, Missouri. Now set to face off on the night’s card, featherweights Doo Ho Choi and Jeremy Stephens will now be going toe-to-toe for the St.Louis crowd.
Doo Ho Choi is coming off of a tough decision loss to Cub Swanson, as Jeremy Stephens recently pulled himself out of a losing streak with a decision victory over Gilbert Melendez.
The mixed martial arts promotion will then be heading to Orlando, Florida on Feb. 24 for another exciting fight card. As reported by Combate, UFC strawweights Karolina Kowalkiewicz and Jessica Andrade will be throwing down for division dominance.
Kowalkiewicz is riding a decision victory over Jodie Esquibel, putting the fighter at 11-2 in her mixed martial arts career. Andrade earned a decision victory of her own over Claudia Gadelha at UFC Fight Night 117. Now the fighter is 17-6 in her career.
UFC 220 goes down Jan. 20, 2018 inside the TD Garden in Boston, Massachusetts. The event will be featured live on pay-per-view. Now the the UFC has announced that UFC light heavyweight champion Daniel Cormier will be taking on tough contender Volkan Oezdemir on the night’s card.
On the heels of the announcement, another big match up has been made. UFC middleweight Hector Lombard is now set to face off against CB Dolloway. The two competitors will throw down at UFC 222. The event takes place March 3, 2018 inside the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada. The main card will be available live on pay-per-view.
