Undefeated! Khabib’s Head Coach Says He’s Never Lost A Round, Even In The Gym

Khabib Nurmagomedov

UFC lightweight contender Khabib Nurmagomedov has not had a great year with the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC). “The Eagle” was set to face off against Tony Ferguson for the interim lightweight title earlier this year. However, the fight was cancelled after Nurmagomedov suffered weight management issues that caused the fighter to have to be rushed to the hospital. Still, things have not been all bad for the undefeated fighter. In fact, it would appear that the competitor’s coach has decided to offer an interesting fact about how Nurmagomedov’s training has been going.

Nurmagomedov recently took a moment to speak with MMA Fighting’s Ariel Helwani. During the interview, Helwani revealed that he previously spoke with the fighter’s coach Javier Mendez. Helwani then explained that he was told by the coach that Nurmagomedov has never been submitted in training nor has the fighter ever lost a round in sparring.

Nurmagomedov is, of course, undefeated in his mixed martial arts career. All in all, the fighter has 24 victories to his name. However, never losing a match in training all the while is another matter entirely.

Khabib Nurmagomedov is now set to face off against Edson Barboza at UFC 219. The event goes down Dec. 30 inside the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nev. and will be available live on pay-per-view.
