Former UFC middleweight champion Michael Bisping has taken to social media to let fans know that they should not purchase tickets for UFC Fight Night 127, if they are doing so to see him fight.
“The Count” suffered a title ending submission loss to Georges St-Pierre at UFC 217. Following the defeat, Bisping would enter the octagon once again just three weeks later. Looking to rebound from his loss, the former champion went toe-to-toe with Kelvin Gastelum.
However, things once again did not go Bisping’s way. Gastelum earned a devastating first round knockout over the fighter. Since then, “The Count” has decided to call his next bout in London his retirement match.
For his retirement fight, Michael Bisping was targeting UFC Fight Night 127. The card takes place inside The 02 Arena in London, making for an ideal event for the former champion. Rumors have even been spreading that “The Count” is set to take on former UFC light heavyweight champion Rashad Evans for the match up.
However, Bisping has since taken to Twitter to reveal that he is not fighting on the card.
“Don’t buy tickets to see me fight in London. I’m not fighting. Just spoke with ufc.”
