With the UFC schedule for 2018 about to be underway, up first for the world’s largest MMA promotion is UFC Fight Night 124. The event is more stacked than UFC 221, but that has Michael Johnson pissed at the UFC, because he’s not even on the main card.
Having headlined MMA cards of his own, and fought some of the world’s best fighters, Johnson was obviously hoping for a better placement on the card, considering the event takes place in his hometown.
That’s just not the case though.
Despite his world ranking and the level of competition he’s faced, the UFC has Johnson pegged as the prelims headliner, a common strategy deployed by the UFC, to insure fans tune in to the early portion of the T.V. broadcast.
Headlining the prelims though, isn’t enough for Johnson who speaks out about the no name headliner in Doo Hoi Choi, and blasts the elderly in Vitor Belfort.
Here’s Johnson’s statement:
????what a joke! I don’t know even know who the other half of the main event is??♂️??♂️??♂️??♂️ and a senior citizen as the co-main? Yea ok. Yea makes perfect sense. Coming off FOTY??. Nice main card! In my hometown #therealmainevent
