With New UFC Rankings Out, Cris Cyborg’s Division The Only One With No Top 10

UFC featherweight champion Cris Cyborg put on another successful octagon performance on Saturday night, Dec. 30. This time around, Cyborg faced off against former bantamweight champion Holly Holm in an octagon war. Cyborg’s division just put on a highly exciting match up for UFC fans and has been around months longer than the female flyweight division. Still, it would appear that the newly formed female featherweight division is not receiving any attention from the official UFC ranking system.

The Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) kicked off the female featherweight division back in February of 2017, when Germaine de Randamie won the title with a close decision victory over Holly Holm back at UFC 208. Despite the fact that the new division has been around for over ten months, the UFC has yet to form an official top ten ranking for the female featherweight class.

On the other hand, the newly formed UFC flyweight division was booted up just last month, as Nicco Montano faced off against Roxanne Modafferi for the flyweight title at The Ultimate Fighter 26 finale on Dec. 1, 2017. As seen in the screenshot below, the female flyweight division already has an official top ten ranking under the UFC.

Official rankings or not, fighters appear to be at the ready to work their way to the featherweight title. Most recently, UFC bantamweight champion Amanda Nunes decided to call out Cris Cyborg for a super fight that has fans desperate for details.
