As expected, the UFC has booked two brand new headliners for next month’s UFC 222 event.
The entire fight card was on the verge of getting cancelled, or removed from pay-per-view at the very least, when the UFC had failed to finalize a proposed replacement headliner between T.J. Dillashaw and Cody Garbrandt.
This all comes on the heels of a Max Holloway injury, who was originally scheduled to fight Frankie Edgar in the night’s main event.
In the night’s co-main event, Frankie Edgar will remain on the card, and instead of fighting Max Holloway, he will face top contender Brian Ortega.
In the night’s main event Cris Cyborg will face UFC newcomer Yana Kunitskaya, who last fought and won under the Invicta banner as a bantamweight.
UFC 222 goes down on March 3, from the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas. The night’s main card will air live on pay-per-view.
