UFC President Dana White has come forward with a new statement concerning “Notorious.” The UFC head believes that UFC superstar Conor McGregor is more likely to face off against undefeated boxing legend Floyd Mayweather Jr. for a rematch than to throw down with fellow UFC superstar Nate Diaz once more.
Speaking to TMZ Sports, White offered a few words on Nate Diaz seeking a fight inside the octagon. UFC welterweight champion Tyron Woodley has been looking to face off against Diaz for a super fight. However, White is not showing any interest in the match up.
“We’ve been offering Nate Diaz fights and Nate Diaz doesn’t want to fight.” White said. “Right now, Nate isn’t in line for a title shot.”
“We’ve been offering him fights.” The UFC president continued. “Guys don’t just come out and say, ‘Yeah, I want fights.’ and then we don’t react on it. We’ve been hitting him up since the last time he fought. We’ve been offering him fights and he is not interested in fighting.”
Nate Diaz recently went to social media to reveal his interest in facing off inside the octagon again, despite Dana White’s claims.
When confronted on the subject, White responded “I don’t why he is saying it.”
The UFC president was then asked which fight he believes is more likely to occur at the moment, a rematch between Conor McGregor and Nate Diaz or a rematch between “Notorious” and Floyd Mayweather Jr.
White retorted, “As of right now, I would say Conor vs. Floyd.”
