Hold Up! Cyborg Still Wants Nunes After Last Minute UFC 222 Title Fight

With a potential super-fight in the works between UFC bantamweight champion Amanda Nunes, and UFC featherweight champion Cris Cyborg, all but a lock for this summer, the UFC needed to pull Cyborg from those plans in order to save next month’s UFC 222 event.

Cyborg now faces Yana Kunitskaya in defense of her world title, instead of Amanda Nunes in a mega-fight for the ages.

Confident as Cyborg is though, she’s still planning on the super fight taking place after she’s done putting in work on March 3.

She said as much on an Instagram stories message, directed straight at Amanda Nunes.

Check it out:

“Amanda, don’t worry,” Cyborg said, tagging all the fighters she mentioned. “(You) have girls coming for you, like (Cat Zingano) and (Ketlen Vieira). Our fight is still on the table for July.”

Of course, Cyborg must win in her last minute main event for the fight to even make sense, but there’s likely not many picking her to lose.
