Fan favorite knockout artist, “Platinum” Mike Perry was on the wrong end of a butt whoopin during Saturday’s UFC Fight Night Orlando main card bout.
He had glaring moments of greatness in his Main Card opener on FOX, but he was effectively battered by his opponent over the course of their three round fight.
In the aftermath of Perry’s defeat, controversial UFC welterweight Colby Covington hit twitter with some pretty insulting comments to Mike Perry’s longtime girlfriend the “Platinum Princess”.
In his statement, Covington said, “Hey @PlatinumPerry, maybe having your ratchet horse faced girlfriend as your head trainer isn’t the smartest idea on planet earth. But hey, when you’re the product of cousins f**king in Ocala FL how strong can your decision making skills be? #UFCOrlando”

These remarks are a bad sign that Covington will easily take things too far for no good reason. It is common practice in the world of Mixed Martial Arts to talk crap about guys in your division, but all fighters not named Colby, leave the family out of it.
This sparked a response from a few top ranked UFC fighters too, who backed Perry and trashed Covington for his statement.
UFC lightweight Kevin Lee took to Twitter to fire back at Covington.

UFC welterweight Kamaru Usman then took to the social media platform to issue a message of his own.

Now, after letting the dust settled overnight, Platinum Mike Perry has personally responded to Colby Covington, and while he doesn’t engage in a heated trash-talk exchange, he effectively puts the UFC’s most annoying bad guy in his place.
