The Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) is in Belem, Brazil tonight, Feb. 3, for UFC Fight Night 125. The world’s most famous mixed martial arts promotion is offering a fight card filled with entertaining match ups. With that in mind, the night’s featured preliminary match is now set to go down. For tonight’s featured preliminary match, welterweights Tim Means and Sergio Moraes will be battling it out for the Brazilian crowd. Here is a look at the UFC results for the exciting match up.
The first round kicked off at a blistering pace, as Moraes quickly grappled his opponent on dragged Means to the canvas. However, Means managed to get back to his feet before suffering any significant damage.
Back on their feet, Moraes stung Means with a vicious combination. But, Means was seemingly not looking to back down.
The two mixed martial arts warriors entered a brutal exchange, as both fighters managed to connect with some powerful shots. In the final minute of the round, the pace began to slow.
Means and Moraes began to choose their shots and avoid another big exchange.
The second round opened up with Means pushing the pace on his opponent. The fighter began utilizing his leg kicks on Moraes, but Moraes retaliated with strong right hand counters.
With just over two minutes left in the round, the fighters continued to keep things on the feet. Moraes began in increase his frequency of strikes, entering another short brawl with his opponent.
In the final moments of the round, Means began to walk down Moraes. However, Moraes fired off a right hand that kept his opponent at bay.
The final round fired off at a similarly fast pace, as Means and Moraes quickly entered an exchange in the center of the octagon.
With three minutes left in the fight, Means managed to pressure his opponent into the fence with a series of strong strikes. Moraes fired back with a brutal flurry of punch combinations that got the Brazilian crowd on their feet.
Both fighters appeared gassed towards the end of the final round, but Means managed to drop Moraes with jut less than a minute left on the clock. The referee stood Moraes up, allowing the fighters a shot to trade blows until the final bell.
This one has gone the distance.
