Tonight, from the Perth Arena, in Perth, Western Australia, Australia, Mark Hunt returned to action in the evening’s UFC 211 co-main event, against Curtis Blaydes.
In the first round Blaydes was content to keep it on the feet, until he nearly got finished by Mark Hunt’s punches! He was hurt badly with a minute left in the round, and Mark over committed to his strikes and got taken down. The round ended with Blaydes recovering on top, bleeding and badly hurt.
In round 2, Blaydes turned instant wrestler, and who could blame him. Hunt kept on his back mostly, and the Australian crowd was audibly frustrated. Blaydes started to land heavy strikes from top position, eventually cutting him with an elbow, but Hunt survived to round 3.
In round 3, Blaydes instantly took the fight down, and continued where he left off in the second. Hunt would continually get up, only to be quickly returned to the mat by a Blaydes takedown. Hunt had no answer.
UFC Result: Curtis Blaydes def. Mark Hunt via unanimous decision (30-26, 30-26, 29-27)
