UFC heavyweight Derrick Lewis called his shot after finishing Marcin Tybura in Austin, Texas. Now the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) appears to be gearing up to possibly grant “The Black Beast” his wish.
Lewis and Tybura went toe-to-toe in the co-main event of UFC Fight Night 126 over the weekend, with Lewis earning a knockout victory over his opponent in the third round. Offering his thoughts on the future following the knockout performance, Lewis decided to call out rising knockout artist and former title challenger Francis Ngannou.
Ngannou earned himself a shot at the heavyweight title with a stunning first round knockout victory over former K-1 champion Alistair Overeem back in Dec. However, things simply did not go the fighter’s way when he faced off against reigning UFC heavyweight champion Stipe Miocic.
Miocic put on a dominant performance over the fighter, earning a unanimous decision victory in the end. Now Lewis is looking to take on the knockout artist following his recent loss.
Taking to Twitter, the UFC has decided to gauge audience interest in a heavyweight war between Ngannou and Lewis through a poll. Check it out in the post below:
