Currently in the midst of her first ever losing streak as a professional Mixed Martial Artist, UFC star Joanne Calderwood is expected to make her highly anticipated return to the Octagon in the new all female flyweight division.
She was originally scheduled to debut in the new weight class against “Rowdy” Bec Rawlings, but pulled out of the bout in the final hour, and made way for the Jessica-Rose Clark vs. Rawlings bout to take place.
The soft spoken and sweet kickboxing based fighter won fans over during the UFC’s first ever all-female Ultimate Fighter reality series, and after a dominant run that saw her string together 11 wins in 12 bouts, she eventually got halted by top strawweight females Cynthia Calvillo and Jessica Andrade.
The Scottish fighter blames the weight cut down to 115 pounds for her poor performances, and believes the move up in weight will get her back on the winning track.
In the meantime though, she’s winning the internet in a big way.
