UFC Hall of Famer Chuck Liddell has been looking to lock down a match up against heated rival and fellow former UFC light heavyweight champion Tito Ortiz for some time now. While the fighter’s first match up has yet to enter the equation, a new rumor suggests that Chuck Liddell is now close to signing a huge deal with Bellator MMA.
Chuck Liddell and Tito Ortiz quickly formed one of the promotion’s most heated rivalries, perhaps only second to Ortiz’s relationship with the UFC president himself. While both fighters have since hung up their gloves, Liddell has been targeting a trilogy rematch with Ortiz as of late.
It was recently reported that the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) is seemingly uninterested in securing the match up, bringing murmurs of the rematch to a whisper. However, a new rumor now claims that Chuck Liddell is close to signing a multi-million dollar fight contract with competing promotion Bellator MMA.
