Former UFC lightweight champion Frankie Edgar suffered a brutal loss over the weekend. Now a video of cage side commentator Daniel Cormier’s reaction to the stunning moment has made its way onto the internet.
“The Answer” was the co-headliner for UFC 222, which took place Saturday night March 3 inside the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nev. Edgar was initially set to face off against UFC featherweight champion Max Holloway for the match up.
However, Holloway pulled out of the title fight after suffering an injury. As a result, Edgar went on to face undefeated MMA star Brian Ortega.
Edgar had never been finished in his UFC career ahead of UFC 222. That being said, Ortega managed to finish the former champion within the first round of their octagon war for a knockout victory.
UFC light heavyweight champion Daniel Cormier was cage side for the event, as the title holder was a color-commentator for the evening. The champion’s real-time reaction to Edgar’s tough defeat can be seen within the video above.
