The Ultimate Fighting Championship has put together a string of new compelling fights for upcoming fight cards, including the long awaited return of former UFC light-heavyweight champion Mauricio “Shogun” Rua.
Starting out on the low end, the UFC has booked Darren Stewart vs. Eric Spicely, for UFC fight night 130 in Liverpool, England.
Also booked on that same Liverpool fight card is the return of the man known as “Hick Diaz”, as Jason Knight vs. Makwan Amirkhani is now official for the UFC Fight Night 130 event.
In the female stratosphere former WSOF champion Jessica Aquilar has agreed to face off with Jodie Esquibel Tijdens. The two are booked for UFC Fight Night 131, taking place in Utica, New York.
Now the big fights.
In what is now the main event for the UFC’s May 18 fight card, taking place in Chile, former UFC light-heavyweight champion Mauricio “Shogun” Rua will look to continue his recent run of success against former UFC title challenger Volkan Oezdemir.
Booked for the UFC’s return to Atlantic City, former UFC lightweight world champion Frankie Edgar gets as he wished, and will co-headline the April 21 fight card, in a rematch against Cub Swanson.
