Former UFC strawweight champion Joanna Jedrzejczyk was quickly on her way to becoming one of the promotion’s most dominant champions, when she was dethroned by Rose Namajunas in stunning fashion. Now the formerly undefeated title holder is gearing up for an immediate rematch with “Thug” Rose.
With all of that in mind, Jedrzejczyk was a fighting phenom before her mixed martial arts days. As a Muay Thai kickboxer, Jedrzejczyk went on to become a six-time world champion and four-time European champion in the sport.
In the video above, Jedrzejczyk can be seen throwing down for one of her title in a brutal Muay Thai match up that would ultimately see the fighter granted a decision victory.
Jedrzejczyk is now preparing to take on Rose Namajunas in a highly anticipated rematch at UFC 223. The live pay-per-view event will take place April 7 inside the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York.
