UFC welterweight Nick Diaz is now once again eligible to compete as a mixed martial artist. With the fighter having already received some fascinating callouts, it would appear that fight fans may get to see the mixed martial arts veteran back inside the cage.
Nick Diaz suffered a provisional suspension back in 2017 after committing an anti-doping policy violation with the United States Anti-Doping Agency (USADA). However, the agency has since come to a decision concerning Diaz’s policy violation.
The fighter was dealt a one-year suspension retroactive to the date of the original infraction. Consequently Diaz’s suspension ended April 19, one day before the famous cannabis holiday of April 20.
Diaz is a vocal advocate for the use of cannabis, making April 20 that much more impactful for the newly eligible fighter. Since the announcement of Diaz’s ended suspension, fighters have begun calling out the MMA veteran.
UFC knockout artist Mike Perry first took to Twitter to reveal an interest in fighting the Stockton native.
“If @nickdiaz209 wants to fight I’d be down to welcome him back. We can smoke weed all week together and I’d still put these hands on him @ufc”

Fellow MMA veteran Carlos Condit later also offered to welcome Diaz back inside the octagon. UFC President Dana White would go on to claim that Diaz is ready for a fight and likely to make an octagon return, leaving fight fans fervent for another big performance from the MMA veteran.
