Greg Hardy and Derrick Lewis have gained a heated rivalry as of later. Now Hardy has come forward to reveal that he is looking to face “The Black Beast” inside the octagon.
Back in 2014, Hardy was arrested for the alleged assault of his former girlfriend. Hardy was found guilty and sentenced to 18 months probation.
Hardy went on to appeal the decision and the alleged victim failed to appear in court to testify. Consequently, all charges were dropped.
The former NFL player was removed from the roster and left to find a new career. Having picked up a 3-0 record within the sport of mixed martial arts, Hardy found his way on the Dana White’s Tuesday Night Contender Series.
After knocking out fellow former NFL player Austen Lane, Hardy offered a few words on his rivalry with Derrick Lewis. Lewis has claimed Hardy’s domestic violence allegations as the source of his grudge against the former NFL player.
Speaking to TMZ Sports, as seen within the video below, Hardy revealed that he is looking to meet Lewis inside the octagon.
“I’m feeling great. I’m feeling positive. I’m feeling excited. I’m ready to go … ready to take this next step and see where it takes us.”
“It would be best to meet me, give me an opportunity. I think I can win a lot of people back over to my side.”
“Soon enough, you’re gonna see me in front of the Black Beast!”
