Former UFC lightweight champion Rafael dos Anjos is now set to face off against Colby Covington for the interim welterweight title. With that in mind, the former champion has now decided to fire back following a bevy of trash-talk from his opponent.
Colby Covington has quickly gained notoriety for his often polarizing trash-talk. The fighter first stirred controversy for using his UFC Sao Paulo post-fight speech back in 2017 to call the arena crowd “filthy animals” and Brazil a “dump.”
Since then, Covington has been on a tirade against any fighter willing to verbally spar with him. Taking to Twitter, Rafael dos Anjos has now decided to fire back.
It all started when one fight fans reacted to the news that Colby Covington wants to confront Joe Rogan at UFC 225. In response, the fight fan offered a meme with Colby Covington’s photoshopped face.

Rafael dos Anjos was quick to pick up the meme and offer his own thoughts.

Covington and dos Anjos will throw down at UFC 225. The live pay-per-view takes place June 9.
