UFC middleweight contender Yoel Romero gained a shot at redeeming his former loss to reigning champion Robert Whittaker over the weekend. Now a video of referee Dan Miragliotta’s reaction to one of “Solder of God’s” stunning power shots has made its way to the internet.
UFC 225 took place inside the United Center in Chicago, Illinois on Saturday, June 9. Yoel Romero and Robert Whittaker were initially set to headline the event in a title fight rematch, as Whittaker earned a unanimous decision victory over the fighter in their last match up.
However, Romero missed weight for the fight. Consequently, the night’s main event became a non-title match between the two mixed martial artists.
Robert Whittaker ultimately earned a split decision victory over his opponent, but Yoel Romero nearly landed a stunning power shot on the fighter at the end of one of the rounds. Referee Dan Miragliotta was thrown off guard by the strike and his reaction is priceless.
