Karate phenom Sage Northcutt put on another stunning octagon performance over the weekend. Now it would appear that the Team Alpha Male member has reached the end of his contract with the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC).
Sage Northcutt made his big return to the welterweight division on Saturday, July 14, after going undefeated within the lightweight class. For the fight, Northcutt went toe-to-toe with Zak Ottow in the co-main event of UFC Fight Night 133 in Boise, Idaho.
Northcutt made short work of his opponent, earning a second round knockout victory. As reported by ESPN, Sage Northcutt fought out the final bout of his contract with the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) at UFC Fight Night 133.
The news source also reports that Northcutt has yet to negotiate a new contract with the world’s most famous mixed martial arts promotion. Speaking to ESPN, Team Alpha Male founder and UFC Hall of Famer Urijah Faber offered a few words on the matter.
“[Last week’s Zak Ottow fight] was his last fight and I really hope they re-sign him. He is the perfect ambassador for the sport.” Faber said.
