UFC welterweights Mike Perry and Darren Till each have fights coming up in the near future. To prepare for their different match ups, the two fighters recently decided to have a little sparring session.
Footage from the session has since been taking the internet by storm, as fight fans are seemingly avid to see what a match up between the two talented strikers would look like. Well, Mike Perry has now come forward to offer a few words on the recent experience.
Speaking in a recent interview, as reported by Bloody Elbow, Mike Perry revealed his grading of Darren Till’s striking prowess.
“I mean we all know he’s already good. You know what I’m saying? But I mean, I could let you all know, he’s good. He caught me with some good sh*t too. Took me to the ground a couple of times, things like that, you know.”
“He’s so big if he doesn’t keep me at range or keep me at distance — and that’s the thing about Till, most of his fights I’ve seen the opponent didn’t want to go in the way that I do. You know what I’m saying?
“People are afraid to go in on him and get cracked. Not me. I go forward no matter who I fight. I don’t know how to fight really any other way. Going forward is what I do.”
Darren Till is now set to challenge Tyron Woodley for the UFC welterweight title at UFC 228 on Sept. 28. Meanwhile, Mike Perry will be taking on MMA veteran Donald Cerone at UFC Fight Night 139 on Nov. 10.
