UFC megastar Conor McGregor has not competed since his foray into the world of professional boxing back in 2017. With “Notorious” now set to fight Khabib Nurmagomedov inside the octagon, Floyd Mayweather Jr. has come forward with a few words of advice for McGregor’s opponent.
Conor McGregor faced undefeated pugilist legend “Money” Mayweather on Aug. 26, 2017, ultimately suffering a TKO loss to the boxer within the tenth round. Now “Notorious” is set to fight another undefeated fighter.
This time, the Ireland native is challenging UFC lightweight champion Khabib Nurmagomedov for his title in the main event of UFC 229. The event will take place Oct. 6, live on pay-per-view.
Speaking to TMZ Sports, Floyd Mayweather Jr. was recently asked his opinion on the upcoming match up.
“I don’t really have a prediction because I’ve never seen the guy fight that’s facing Conor McGregor — from what I know he’s a hell of a guy that’s on the ground — hell of a grappler — and he can wrestle.”
When asked if he has any advice for Khabib Nurmagomedov, Mayweather added “The fans want to see you stand up and fight. That’s what the fans like to see. But, Conor McGregor, he’s a tough competitor, like I said before Conor McGregor’s not gonna back down from anyone, he’s not scared, he’s a warrior.”
