Derrick Lewis Admits He Doesn’t Really Want To Fight For The Title, But Will Anyways

Talented knockout artist Derrick Lewis is currently set to fight two-division champion Daniel Cormier for the UFC heavyweight title. The two world-class fighters will throw down within the main event of UFC 230.

UFC 230 is set to take place Saturday, Nov. 3, from within the illustrious Madison Square Garden in New York. The event will be featured live on pay-per-view worldwide for fight fans everywhere.

Speaking to ESPN’s Brett Okamoto, Derrick Lewis has since come forward to reveal that he does not precisely want to fight for the title. In fact, “The Black Beast” believes that former champion Stipe Miocic is more deserving of a title shot. None the less, Lewis plans on battling it out Nov. 3.

“Derrick Lewis is as real as they come. I asked him if this upcoming title fight is something he really WANTS, or something he just can’t pass up, and he immediately said it’s the latter. And then said Stipe Miocic deserves the shot more than him.”
