Undefeated UFC lightweight champion Khabib Nurmagomedov submitted Conor McGregor in the main event of UFC 229 on Oct. 6. Nurmagomedov quickly sparked a fracas between the opposing fight camps immediately after the bout by leaping out of the octagon and attacking one of McGregor’s teammates.
Nurmagomedov has gone on to call out 50-0 boxing legend Floyd Mayweather Jr. to a boxing match. “Money” Mayweather has since accepted the call out, but Nurmagomedov went on to reveal that he would only fight under the condition that the bout not take place in Las Vegas, Nev.
UFC 229 took place in Las Vegas, Nev. Consequently, the Nevada State Athletic Commission (NSAC) is currently holding Khabib Nurmagomedov’s UFC 229 $2 million payday while the commission continues their investigation into the recent fracas.
Speaking to TMZ Sports, Floyd Mayweather Jr. has since come forward with his response to Nurmagomedov’s request.
“I’v seen on IG and social media, he put… I think basically that he’s fight but he don’t want to fight in Vegas.” Mayweather said. “Of course, we know that Vegas is the fighting capitol.
“After the fight, you have to conduct yourself like a true professional… not just in the ring, but outside the ring also.”
