Following UFC welterweight champion Tyron Woodley’s recent statement about racism in MMA, UFC president Dana White decided to put his two cents worth towards the champion.
The president claimed Woodley as a “drama queen” in an interview with ESPN Radio’s Russell and Kanell.
Well, Woodley has decided to fire back. In a recent interview with Ariel Helwani on The MMA Hour, the champion had a few things to say about White’s comments.
“Dana, you a drama queen. How about that? Dana White is the drama queen.” Woodley said.
“How is Dana White gonna call me a drama queen? He’s the biggest drama queen. I learned from the best.
“I just think that we’ve seen Dana, if you get Dana mad, he gets really mad. And then really quickly — I think he’s mad at so many people, I think he forgets he’s mad at you. And he almost just wipes it from his memory.” Woodley continued. “I thought it was actually kind of funny when he called me a drama queen.”
Woodley said that he is not taking the comment from White personally. The two were later seen at the Super Bowl together, so things seem to have been quelled for now.
Tyron Woodley is set to face Stephen Thompson in a title fight main event rematch for UFC 209 this Saturday.
