Derrick “Black Beast” Lewis The Latest To Join The Anti Colby Covington Movement

UFC welterweight Colby Covington has been a target of controversy for some time, with many fighters and fight fans alike offering heated messages to the competitor. Now UFC heavyweight Derrick Lewis has decided to offer his thoughts on the matter.

Colby Covington first drew controversy when he called Brazil a “dump” and Brazilians “filthy animals” in his post-fight speech at UFC Sao Paulo in 2017. The fighter would later be assaulted by former UFC heavyweight champion Fabricio Werdum over the statement.

Werdum struck the fighter with a boomerang, leading to Covington pressing charges for the incident. Fighters then criticized Covington for pressing charges against the former title holder.

Most recently, Covington has been receiving some heat for calling UFC knockout artist Mike Perry’s girlfriend “horse face.” Covington made the statement over social media just after Perry suffered a unanimous decision loss to Max Griffin at UFC on FOX 28.

Now UFC heavyweight Derrick Lewis has come forward with a heated message for Colby Covington. Speaking on the latest edition of The MMA Hour, Lewis let his thoughts on the welterweight be known.

“While we’re on the mic, f*ck Colby, whatever his name is. F*ck you, motherf**ker. Just so you hear that. Go ahead and put that out. I heard he was talking sh*t. He’s one of those boys that wears Polo shirts and as soon as you touch him, he’s going to call the cops on you. One of them preppy motherf**kers. I don’t know where it was on, I just heard he was talking sh*t.”
