UFC Results: Featherweights Deliver KO Of The Night Candidate - Watch

Charles Rosa and Shane Burgos kept the ball rolling on Fox Sports 1 for their featherweight contest. By the time they made their way down to the octagon, the fans in KeyBank Center had already started to fill the arena.

Burgos found a comfortable distance to strike from early on, pinning Rosa up against the fence and forcing him to constantly circle around the octagon. Rosa landed a stiff left hook that Burgos simply shrugged off, but it was a punch that he shouldn’t let land throughout the fight.

Rosa attacked the lead leg of Burgos and you could tell they started to take their damage at the end of the first round when Burgos blitzed toward him to cut off the leg kicks. The round ended with neither fighter landing anything significant, but Rosa was hoping to land in a major way as soon as the second round started.

His strikes tricked Burgos into engaging in close range combat rather than utilizing his reach, and Rosa took advantage of this by closing the distance and shooting for a takedown. The pace slowed down in a major way in the second round as the lead leg of Burgos slowed him down, thanks to the kicks of Rosa. Rosa started to change which directions he was attacking from in the final two minutes of the second round, finally allowing him to land big punches to the head of Burgos who possessed a reach advantage.

Burgos noticed Rosa landing more punches as he got closer in the second, so he utilized kicks to keep Rosa at bay forcing him to whiff on most of his punches.

Burgos tagged an exhausted Rosa with several punches that landed clean before he sent him toppling backward. Rosa started to eat one punch too many, forcing the referee to step in and wave the fight off.
