Update: D.C Reveals He Still Has 7.5 lbs To Go, Just Hours From Today’s Weigh-Ins

UFC Light Heavyweight Champion Daniel Cormier had 7.5 pounds left to cut in less than 24 hours.

On Thursday, the UFC held open workouts for UFC 214. While talking to the media, Cormier revealed he still had almost eight pounds left to drop in order to make weight for his title fight.

At UFC 214, Cormier will defend his title against former UFC Light Heavyweight Champion Jon Jones in the main event.

Cormier’s weight has been a massive topic going into his next fight. In April, Cormier struggled to make weight for his title fight against Anthony Johnson. During the weigh-ins, it appeared Cormier lifted himself up with a towel in order to make weight.

Also, the state of California has changed their protocols and now closely monitor fighters while they’re cutting weight. This could have caused the UFC champion problems during his weight cut.

Weigh-ins for UFC 214 take place Friday, while UFC 214 will take place July 29 at the Honda Center in Anaheim, California.
