Ultimate Fighting Championship made their way to Fortaleza, Brazil for “UFC Fight Night 106” where Alex Oliveira and Tim Means kicked off the main card with their exciting welterweight bout.
It didn’t take long for Means to get plopped on his back as Oliveira built a decent amount of top control in the opening round. Means tried to lock on an armbar, but Oliveira was privy to his plans and defended accordingly. Means made his way back to his feet where he was slammed right back down to the mat.
Oliveira tried to take the back of Means after slamming him, but Means made his way back to his feet where they both leaned along the fencing of the octagon while jockeying for positioning. Means repeatedly made his way back to his feet just to get taken back down until the final takedown was reversed. Means landed on top in side control with just a minute remaining in the first and the round expired with Means on top.
Oliveira was quick to push Means up against the fencing of the octagon where he eventually took him down. Oliveira threatened to take the back of Means but Means was able to scoot out of danger and make his way back to his feet… Only to get taken down yet again.
This time, Oliveira took the back of Means and got both hooks in before locking on the body triangle. Oliveira locked in the rear naked choke and forced Means into submission in the second round!
