UFC veteran Nik Lentz has announced he will no longer be training with American Top Team.
On Wednesday, Lentz sent out a tweet announcing his departure from the team.
“Choosing to part ways with American Top Team,” Lentz tweeted. “I wish the team and all of the coaches well.”
In a statement to MMAjunkie, Lentz said he has not officially joined any other team at this time.
“I’m figuring them out as we speak,” Lentz said. “I didn’t go searching around in the shadows finding a new team before I left this one. That would not be very honorable … and I still place a lot of value in that.
“I have a lot of issues with ATT obviously because I left, but you will have to find someone else for that dirt. I have no comment on ATT anymore, as I’m not a part of the team anymore.”
Lentz is coming off a decision loss to Islam Makhachev back in February. Prior to the loss, he was on a two-fight win streak since returning to the lightweight division.
