Former UFC Bantamweight Champion TJ Dillashaw has agreed to pay UFC Flyweight Champion Demetrious Johnson his fight money if he is unable to make the flyweight weight limit.
Johnson and the UFC have engaged in a public battle over the champion’s next fight. The UFC wants Johnson to defend his title against Dillashaw. However, Johnson has already agreed to fight Ray Borg and doesn’t believe Dillashaw is deserving of a title shot because he has never fought in the division.
According to Johnson, UFC President Dana White said he will dissolve the flyweight division if he doesn’t fight Dillashaw.
Johnson also said in order to take the fight against Dillashaw he wants a clause in the contract that states he receives Dillashaw’s fight money if the former champion fails to make the 125-pound weight limit.
“Put that in there,” Dillashaw told ESPN. “I’m not gonna miss weight. That’s not something I have to be worried about at all. I have it down to a perfect science.
“This is going to be the biggest hyped fight he’s going to get. I feel like it’s being overlooked too much by him. It’s going to tarnish his name. I don’t think he’s going to be the greatest of all time dodging these fights.”
