The Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) made a trip to Sao Paulo, Brazil on Saturday for UFC Fight Night 119. The event featured the octagon return of former UFC light heavyweight champion Lyoto Machida. The fighter has not competed inside the octagon for two years, as “The Dragon” was handed a lengthy 18 month suspension following a drug test failure.
In the night’s main event, Lyoto Machida went toe-to-toe with Derek Brunson. Brunson made short work of his opponent, earning a dominant and swift first round victory over “The Dragon.” In the night’s co-main event, Colby Covington earned a unanimous decision victory over Brazilian competitor Demian Maia.
With the night of fights now in the books, it’s time to take a look at the medical suspensions for UFC Fight Night 119. CABMMA did not provide details on the nature of many of the fighters’ suspensions, with the exception of Marlon Vera.
