The Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) headed to Sao Paulo, Brazil for UFC Fight Night 119 on Saturday night. In the night’s co-main event, former welterweight title contender Demian Maia faced off against Colby Covington.
Covington and Maia entered a bloody, three round battle. However, in the end, Covington earned a unanimous decision victory over his opponent. In his post-fight interview, Covington had a few choice words for the Sao Paulo crowd. The fighter called Brazil a “dump” and its people “filthy animals.” After the controversial statement, Covington once again called out the reigning welterweight champion.
UFC welterweight champion Tyron Woodley has not suffered a defeat since 2014, in which the fighter received a unanimous decision loss to Rory MacDonald. Most recently, Woodley earned a unanimous decision win over grappling phenom Demian Maia at UFC 214. Now it would appear that the champion has provided a response to Covington’s recent call out.

He changed his name to Colby "Cotton Fist" Covington. Or Easy Money Covington. Sum like that. I'm embarrassed he was proud of that https://t.co/cVDPnB7e5T
