UFC featherweight Cris Cyborg has been hunting for an opponent to take her on for the champion’s first title defense. However, it would appear that Cyborg will have to continue searching for a fighter to meet inside the octagon.
Cyborg has been attempting to lock in a match up with former UFC bantamweight champion Holly Holm. The two were targeted for a bout on Dec. 30 at UFC 219, however it would appear that the fight is not happening.
Lenny Fresquez, Holly Holm’s agent, recently broke the news. Speaking to MMA Fighting, Fresquez said:
“Holly was anxiously awaiting the Dec. 30 fight with Cyborg and had been training for it. But we could not come to financial terms for this featherweight title bout in December. We look forward to meeting her under the right circumstances.”
