Reigning UFC featherweight champion Cris Cyborg has been looking to get a fight for awhile now but as usual she just can’t seem to get anything finalized. This is partly due to the fact that Cyborg has been the most feared fighter in her division for over ten years. However, it’s also worth mentioning that she’s pretty much the only fighter in her weight class.
The vast majority of the best female fighters currently compete anywhere from 115lbs to 135lbs so the UFC has quite the task when it comes to matchmaking for Cyborg.
Cris Cyborg was targeting a fight against former bantamweight champion Holly Holm at UFC 219 but negotiations have officially fallen through. It’s well known that Holm is a bantamweight fighter and nowhere close to Cyborg’s size so she wanted to be compensated appropriately for the task in going up in weight to fight her.
With negotiations between her camp and the UFC quickly falling through it’s now uncertain as to whether the UFC will continue to pursue the fight with Holly Holm, but there seems to be only one female ready to step up and fight the UFC featherweight champion.
UFC bantamweight fighter Cindy Dandois jumped on Twitter to let the fans knows she’s ready and willing.
