Former UFC bantamweight champion Holly Holm has been on a warpath for a belt ever since losing her bantamweight title. Holm lost a chance to become the first female fighter to win two titles in two different weight classes when she came up short against Germaine de Randamie in the main event of UFC 208.
Controversy ensued at the end of the second and third rounds when the featherweight champion landed hard shots after the bell had sounded. Apparently not happy with the first blow, Holm showed her frustration and went low on de Randamie. Check it out in the photo below:
In the end, de Randamie walked away with a decision victory over her opponent to become the inaugural UFC female featherweight champion. That being said, Cris Cyborg now wields the featherweight title and Holly Holm has earned another shot at the enticing title.
Cyborg and Holm have been going back and forth over social media with their trash-talk for the past months, finally leading to an official date and venue for their highly anticipated war for the featherweight belt. Now Holm and Cyborg will face off at UFC 219 on Saturday, Dec. 30. The event will go down inside the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nev. and will be available live on pay-per-view.
