UFC Fight Night 123 is taking place tonight, Dec. 9, inside the Save Mart Center in Fresno, Calif. The Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) has an entire fight card of exhilarating match ups planned for the night’s event. While featherweights Cub Swanson and Brian Ortega will be entertaining the Fresno crowd in the night’s headliner, the featured preliminary bout of UFC Fight Night 123 is going down right now. Take a look at the UFC results below.
In the night’s featured preliminary match, bantamweights Liz Carmouche and Alexis Davis are facing off in a battle inside the Save Mart Center.
Davis kicked off the opening round at a blistering pace, rushing Carmouche against the fence. That being said, Carmouche went on to trip her opponent down to the canvas. Carmouche made her way to side control and began pummeling Davis with some ground and pound.
With only a minute left in the round, Davis had yet to escape from her opponent on the ground. However, Davis managed to lock in a vicious armbar attempt that seemed to nearly have Carmouche before the round ending bell had sounded.
In the second round, Davis returned with a vengeance. The fighter caught a kick from Carmouche, taking her to the ground. From Carmouche’s full guard, Davis managed to throw down some ground and pound over her opponent. Davis remained over her opponent halfway through the round, as the fighter continued to pummel Carmouche with her strikes.
The fighters were stood back up by the referee with one minute left in the round. Davis walked down her opponent but suffered a late takedown from Carmouche just before the sound of the bell.
The final round kicked off with Carmouche earning a big takedown over her opponent, but Davis responded with a stunning armbar submission. Carmouche slammed her opponent into the canvas multiple times before Davis gave up on the submission attempt.
Carmouche continued to control much of the final round from the ground, as the fighter continued to deliver ground and pound to her opponent.
