Cris Cyborg
Not even a week removed from her UFC 219 main event against Holly Holm, and UFC featherweight champion Cris Cyborg says she’s already agreed to take on her next opponent.
While not many females line up to face the sport’s most feared woman. Australia’s Megan Anderson saw something she liked in Saturday’s main event and the Invicta FC champion made a public callout to fight Cyborg next.
“Great fight ladies! Congrats Cris on retaining your belt! @ufc I think there’s only 1 fight to make now against a legit featherweight. #UFC219

Taking to Instagram, Cyborg decided to offer a response.
“#ufc221 it’s been a year since @megana_mma won the @invictafc belt and she hasn’t defended it yet. If she’s ready to defend her #1 ranking I would love to fight in Australia.”
And now, just a few days removed from this brief social media exchange and according to Cyborg, she received a call asking if she’d take the fight.
Cris Cyborg revealed the news this morning,
“I got a call asking if I would fight @megana_mmain her home country and I said Yes!”
UFC 221 goes down live on pay-per-view on February 10, from Perth Australia. In the night’s main event Robert Whittaker takes on Luke Rockhold for the UFC middleweight world title.
This would be a five week turnaround from Cyborg’s toughest MMA fight to date.
