Undefeated pugilist phenom Floyd Mayweather Jr. snared the attention of MMA fans when he earned a TKO victory over UFC superstar Conor McGregor inside the squared circle back in 2017. While “Money” Mayweather returned to retirement after the match up, the legendary boxer has since been voicing an interest in making a run within the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC).
UFC welterweight champion Tyron Woodley has since revealed that he will soon be training Mayweather in matters of mixed martial arts, focusing primarily on the boxer’s ability to defend takedowns. Speaking to TMZ Sports, as seen in the video below, Woodley revealed that he plans on picking up the training within a week.
“I talked to Floyd today actually. We are coordinating dates on training.” Woodley stated.
The UFC champion would go on to say, “I think we are going to start most of it next week.”
