Now Out Of The Testing Pool, Lyoto Machida Says USADA Gave His Wife A “panic syndrome”

Former UFC light heavyweight champion Lyoto Machida failed a drug test under the United States Anti-Doping Agency (USADA) back in 2016. The fighter has since returned from his lengthy suspension and ha since signed with competing promotion Bellator MMA.

Now a Bellator fighter, “The Dragon” is no longer required to be in the USADA testing pook. Speaking to agfight.com, Machida revealed is distaste for USADA and that the random drug testing demanded by the agency in the late hours of the night affected his wife’s mental health.

“For this aspect of being no longer guided by the USADA, I feel without pressure, knowing that no one is going to knock at six in the morning at my door … Despite being very in favor of doping policy, my wife developed panic syndrome after USADA process.”
