When Ultimate Fighting Championship was sold to WME-IMG, a lot of familiar faces left the premier fight organization. Office workers from Las Vegas, Nevada to Canada lost their jobs due to the fact that UFC was letting people go, but perhaps the face and voice people miss the most if former commentator Mike Goldberg.
Goldberg had sat cage side along with Joe Rogan for thousands of fights and the duo was a mainstay for mixed martial arts fans. Whenever you heard that pairing, you knew there was an important or crucial fight on the way and they truly set the mood for a card. While those days are in the past, here’s to hoping that Goldberg can create that magic with another company as he is rumored to have signed with competitor RIZIN.
Ol' Mikey Goldberg and Rizin.

Just after a few events from their inception, RIZIN has been able to gather quite the fan base in the United States of America despite being run out of Japan. The company follows almost an identical structure to PRIDE in where they run several tournaments that look past weight restrictions all the while putting on spectacles for live entertainment.
Goldberg was removed from UFC programming without so much of a mention or a thank you from the company. Mike later revealed that he too was never given a reason, but the world of mixed martial arts will likely welcome him with open arms no matter where he goes. Do you believe RIZIN is the right choice?
