Retired UFC fighter Tim Kennedy supports President Donald Trump’s ban on transgender people serving in the military.
Over the past week, the U.S president has been under scrutiny for his decision.
Kennedy joined the U.S Army back in 2004. In 2009, he transferred from the U.S Army to the National Guard. In 2017, Kennedy reenlistment into the U.S. Army Special Forces.
With all of his experience serving the U.S, Kennedy says he supports Trump’s ban on transgender people in the army. Kennedy believes that the ban is necessary in order to protect transgender people.
Kennedy made a statement regarding the ban on his Facebook page.
“I am a passionate believer in freedom. I believe that you can do anything you want as long as it doesn’t affect the freedoms of somebody else. I support #homosexuals and #transgenders. I truly don’t care what you do. We’re all different.
“I do care about the effectiveness of our Armed Forces. I support my brothers and sisters heading to war. Do I have to remind you that we are still at war? A war that is the longest in our country’s history. I want our military to be the most focused and prepared they can be for what is the most horrible thing humans can do to each other.
“Supporting transgenders and supporting the military’s ban are not mutually exclusive. If you like the freedoms that we have, support the president’s decision. It is a clear and decisive step in protecting them. I have seen firsthand fanatics specifically targeting homosexuals and transgenders. Executing them in the street and throwing them off of buildings. Walking into a nightclub in Orlando and killing as many as they can. Having the best and most lethal military that builds and protects the wall we enjoy our freedoms behind is what keeps freedom alive.
“I’m sorry the celebrities of Hollywood do not support the decision but I am fairly certain that Caitlin Jenner and Lena Dunham know nothing of war. #translivesmatter #transmilitaryban.”
